100 Things I will miss of TASMANIA
Well decided to make a list of stuff (hopefully can reach 100) that I will misss Tasmania, my home for two years. This list started today 21 November 2004, 09.25 am, and will contiune untill I complete 100 or leave Tasmania.
1) The seafood like scallops, prawns, shell fish, lobsters(cheap!!!), squid, OYSTERS!!!, and many many more!!!
2) The weather, that is always (or most often then not) cool, with breezzy winds even though under scorching sunlight.
3) The Scenery, the water front, the pier, the mountains, the sea view, the straits in Hobart, and most of all the flat land houses instead of tall tall HDBs!!!
4) The idle cafe sitting and sipping the hot hazelnut latte (skinny milk of course) while basking in the mid day sun with cool breezes.
5) The cheap CHEAP...REALLY REALLY CHEAP alcohol here, shots and all beer like 5 dollars only or less, Jug of beer 15 bucks and jugs of bourbon only 20 bucks....CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP!!!
6) Cooking anything to eat, for meals or for just snacking at any time of the day with out the constant nagging of parents of dirtying the kitchen.
7) Cooking anything I wan, from the most complicated to the most simple, from the most tedious to the most one step meals in the world. From traditional foods to western foods, the experiment of my life time.
8) Living in a house with a big back yard that I can flip a couple of times and still got space to roll here and there.
9) BATHTUB!!! enjoying a great refreshing cooling (in Summer) or hot (in Winter) soak in a multitude of bubbly bubbles. THE BUBBLE BATH OF THE CENTURY!!!
10) Salamanca Market and all the great foods along the stalls, like gypsy roll, burtwursts and currywrust sausage, tempura mushroom, mini pancakes, jam and custard donuts, coffee, dakewood dogs, oilebollen and so much more.
11) Supermarket opening to 12 midnight, and so many many things to buy.
12) Cheap milk here, the 3L pura milk (skinny again of course) the is so so nice....LOVE THAT MILK!!!
13) The amazing amount of ice-cream here ranging from supermarket varieties to the Mures ice-cream to just boat side ice-cream (which incidently taste better then most others)
14) Sort of asian food here, as you cannot get more authentic Vietnam, thai or japanese food then in Singapore, here is really open by the people from those countrys and more authentic with inplaced customs of warm hand towels to hot tea. And of course the amazing king prawns used in chinese foods like hokkien mee and fried mee, tell me where in Singapore can you get king prawns in those dishes.
15) The amazing AMAZING night SKY filled always with stars, so many so clearly seen that is uncountable. The normal SOUTHERN CROSS, ORION's BELT and of course ORION himself, and many many more other astrological systems. The night sky is fantasic.
16) Blue Gum and Leather Wood Honey that is amazing for most dishes especially chicken wings and ribs. The taste great (as its really sweet) but with honey properties.
17) Joanna's Jams, the best jams in the market, in Tasmania, in Australia and possibility in the WORLD!!!
18) The JEANS!!!..so hard to find sizes for me so its great to find a place, a shop or more like shopps that have fantasy jeans design and can actually fit me..hahaaa...sad/happy but true..heheee...
19) The fashion design, nice and unusual but good for a change, outgoing and daring designs.
20) HEALTHIER McDonalds then most other counties, and also Hungry Jacks (a.k.a. Burger King) and KFC, all with addition of veggies that usually not seen in Singapore FastFood Chains.
21) Event One: BBQ in our back yard, going to miss that for sure, the makeshift BBQ pit with aluminimum trays and charcoal that look like possum shit that is very hard to light up and get starting but amazingly goes on and on and on and on like the energier bunnie. The friends around that enjoy this event and all the happenings.
22) Event Two: Deep Frying event, when I got my first credit card, I got rewards and I redeemed a deep fryer, and we had a deep frying event where all friends was invited and we deep fried, scallops, prawns (or Ebi Tempura done by my Jap Friend), mushroom, veggies like sweet potate, pumpkin, and many many more. It was a great event. Very fun and happy.
23) Event Three: Birthday events, we would usually celebrate birthday events, the ones I miss most were at Sun Street where we would celebrate most of the housemate's birthday with a great meal and mostlyu followed with a alcohol fiesta.
24) My first Credit Card, that had a 1K credit limit and was upgraded to a 3K limit...hahaa..it was fun but also expensive. CC are good but also dangerous..hahaaa...but still my first one..hehee
25) People I will miss, like Yvonne and Diana, Laura, Dr Wong, Dr Jim, Valeria, and all the Aussie friends I made...I will miss you greatly.
